Scene
Jean Joho's plush, classically French restaurant Everest
positively oozes the good life, from the polished gold railings
to the abstract bronze centerpieces on each table. The carpeted
room features high, draped ceilings, mirrored walls and a
breathtaking vista of the city. Friendly, tuxedo-clad waiters
provide unobtrusive service to a conservative, moneyed
crowd.

Food
One of the world's most honored chefs, Jean Joho prepares
traditional French cuisine that's haute and hearty. The $79 dégustation
menu delivers a sumptuous, seven-course tour of the chef's
breathtaking skills, from buttery, sinful roasted lobster to
flaky sea bass on celery root. The a la carte menu offers
several Everest signature dishes; among these, the creamy
carnaroli risotto (topped with 24-karat gold leaf) and tender
poached tenderloin of beef are not to be missed. For dessert,
the fabulous "fantasy of chocolate" lives up to its
name, with five different creations nestled together on one
amazing plate.
